The Bank of England may yet take the market by surprise and hike rates later in the day. Citigroup feels that strong UK growth and buoyant selling prices - a key concern at the central bank - mean a rate rise "is a very real possibility and more likely than markets price in." Nevertheless, the bank adds, it`s a close call and a 25 basis point rate hike may well be delayed until July or August.
