 | |  | | TOKYO, May 25 (Reuters) - The Nikkei share average fell 0.95 percent on Friday as exporters such as Sony Corp. (6758.T: Quote, NEWS , Research) fell after the yen jumped against the dollar and euro after data showed Japan's core consumer prices fell at a slower pace in April as expected.
Japanese core consumer prices fell 0.1 percent in April from a year earlier, government data showed before the open, matching economists' consensus forecast.
The Nikkei <.N225> was down 167.70 points at 17,529.27 as of 0001 GMT. The broader TOPIX index <.TOPX> lost 0.95 percent to 1,721.62. |  |  |  |  |
